As part of the Department
of Homeland Security US-VISIT Program, LEDCO was
asked to provide systems for every border crossing
kiosk. This was an important undertaking that involved
three critical elements: (a) protecting the intellectual
property within each Panasonic Toughbook laptop computer;
(b) zero downtime; and (c) the ability to withstand
the varied environments across the U.S. The docking
solution that LEDCO provided included a security
box with multiple locking mechanisms for increased
anti-theft protection, and top-of-the-line connectivity
for every peripheral.

Time Frame: 2002
The U.S. Coast Guard required
a mounting solution for the Panasonic Toughbook
that was suitable for a marine environment, with
added functionality allowing the Toughbook to be
quickly stowed and easily accessible. LEDCO custom-designed
the Jack Knife Mounting Tray, a steel folding table
that allowed for stable docking, arms-length access
and quick out-of-the-way storage for the Panasonic
Toughbook.
