About LEDCO
We
were founded in 1988 by John Dillon. In the late 1980s when
computers were not commonplace for in-vehicle use, we were
able to establish ourselves as an industry leader in mobile
computing, by recognizing the need for a systems approach
when marrying the vehicle, the peripherals and the computer
platform. The result of this approach was clearly articulated
when we developed the first docking system for California
Highway Patrol (CHP) in 1989. John Dillon was joined in
1993 by Mike Knust to help build the company.
Since that time we have been active in the design and development
of docking & mounting solutions not only for the Public
Safety Market, but also for the fast growing Utility and
Telecom sector, as well as the needs of the US Government.
Our customers value our many years of experience and our
broad line of products & systems that have assured success
on many nationally recognized projects.
We are proud of our accomplishments, but none are as special
as being asked to design, build and install the mounting
and docking equipment for the New York Police Department
following the events of September 11, 2001. This was a watershed
event in LEDCO’s history, in that we were tasked with
anchoring a core-component of one of the most complex public
safety infrastructures in the world.
In late 2004, LEDCO was joined by Mike Zani and Daniel Muzquiz
as principal managers from Phoenix Strategy Investments,
LLC along with Gemini Investors, a venerable growth/acquisition
oriented investment group with over $300 million in capital
under management. The two founders and two principal managers
share a similar vision. A vision that ensures LEDCO’s
customers receive the finest products and services to meet
their rugged and mobile computing needs. In addition, this
combination of financial and technical resources, ensures
that LEDCO will be able to capitalize on any and all opportunities
for long-term growth.
